Duy Tran is a PPR-certified coach who competes at a 5.0 level
Starting in January 2023, Leif Ericson Pickleball Club will offer private and group (up to four players) pickleball lessons from an in-house, certified professional at John Dewey High School.
Coach Tran is a PPR-certified professional coach based in Brooklyn, N.Y. and competes at a 5.0 level for both singles and doubles. He was a full-time tennis coach in NYC and Long Island for more than 10 years and now uses his experience to build the pickleball community in Brooklyn.
Private coaching is tailored to individual goals, while group lessons provide a fun and interactive environment to learn and practice. Clinics and workshops for all skill levels are also offered. All programs consist of warmups, drills, and games. More details below:
What: 90-minute coaching sessions + 3 hours of open play

Week 1 Introducing the basic shots of pickleball: serve, return, volley, dink

Week 4 The first four, winning strategies: shot selection and consistency
Intermediate
Week 1 Dinking techniques and strategies: dink variations, speedups, counters

Week 4 How to win and improve: consistency, shot selection, what it takes to advance to the next level
About the venue
John Dewey High School is one of two indoor locations that the Leif Ericson Pickleball Club secured in 2022. The facility has four open play courts and two courts for training/drilling. Parking is available on-site.
