Anonymous donor pledges $3 per player to Leif Ericson Pickleball Club fund

The Leif Ericson Pickleball Club is trialling its first-ever indoor venues for the winter

SUNSET PARK, N.Y. -- An anonymous benefactor offered to donate $3 per person, per session for indoor pickleball during the 2022-2023 winter season. The money will go toward the Leif Ericson Pickleball Club fund.

"I told them my story and vision for the future, our problems getting an indoor space to play in the winter, and the person asked how to help," said Hoi Leung, one of the club leaders. "It was the person's idea to donate."

The club is currently searching for an indoor space for its members to play, and after hearing about the club's mission as well as search, the donor generously offered $3 per paying pickleball player in Sheepshead Bay.

The donor loves pickleball and believes in Leif Ericson Pickleball Club's vision of spreading the sport in South Brooklyn and building a healthy, vibrant community.

Funds go toward promoting the Leif Ericson Pickleball Club vision, beginners classes and other resources for the no-cost club's general membership.
